Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Like A Girl is a student-run blog/organization that highlights the accomplishments of women of color that are often underrepresented in history books. ​ Our mission is for schools to include more women of color in the curriculum, so children can be educated on the amazing feats of women.

Name 3 female scientists. You probably just said, "Marie Curie......uhhhhh......" And honestly, we don't blame you! Schools have taught us amazing men, but women are often left out of the picture. But if you were able to name those (good job, by the way!), try this. Name three female scientists of color. Your mind probably went blank, getting frustrated at not knowing the answer to a seemingly simple question. This is probably because you were never taught this in school and, that's the problem. 

 

Women of color have made incredible contributions to the world, but are rarely credited for it, and as students ourselves, we need to change it! So please peruse through our collection of blog posts to learn more about amazing women of color that have or are changing the world.
